Aukai and his first sunflowerI’m finally starting a blog! I’d been thinking about doing it as a new year resolution, but got a bit of a late start. Better late than never! With two full time jobs ( jewelry designer and mommy) I hardly have time to journal my thoughts anymore. And since I’m always on the puter, it only makes sense to get with the digital world (even though I’ve been kicking and screaming the whole way) and journal through blogging. Sooo I’m finally doing it! I’m a blogger! This way I won’t feel out of touch with everyone and you all can get to know my deep dark secrets… Ha, as if!

Well I finally picked my blog layout and I’m going to make a goal of including a least one picture per blog so I have selected two of my favorite most recent pics.  The first one is of my one year old son, Aukai, in our garden next to our very first sunflower. He later tried to pick it and bent it over, however, we have more coming…and they are TALL- almost as tall as me in fact.  I’m 5’8″ so I’m excited to see the flowers when they open up.  The sunflowers grew “on accident.”  My friend Wai was eating sunflower seeds and threw one of them in the garden and it sprouted!

Stephanie Pratt and me

So back to my pictures…the second one is from last night and I’m very excited about it.  It’s of myself and Stephanie Pratt from MTV’s reality show “The Hills” –you know the one with Lauren Conrad.  Well my girlfriend Jamie invited me to go to a BBQ last night on the set of the show and I thought it was a perfect opportunity to introduce some celebrities to Noelani Designs.  And of course Stephanie fell in love with the Malia Necklace!! I brought it in my purse and it matched her teal-accented outfit perfectly.  I don’t watch the show so I don’t how she looks on screen,  but she’s so gorgeous in real life.  And she is also a sweetheart. She is starting her own handbag line, which was interesting for me to discuss with a fellow designer.  But she has manufacturers…meaning she is going big.  Maybe one day my line will be that big where I’ll need a “production line”….one day…just one day at a time for now.
