Whew! What a week! I successfully participated in my 5th Haleiwa Arts Festival, right here in my hometown here on the North Shore of Oahu! It was a beautiful weekend, as usual, with a few blessings of rain and rainbows in the morning, and some cool, refreshing breezes in the afternoon heat.

Lots of great friends stopped by to show their support, and I was so busy in my booth that I didn’t get to take many pictures with friends or fans! Luckily, I had some great help from my assistants Yhazi and Heather.

Damon, Lilah and Donna came early to enjoy the festivities!

Lots of new customers bought pieces, walking away feeling beautiful in their new treasures, and many returning customers showed their loyalty to Noelani Designs by adding to their collections. The festival was so much fun, and it was so great to see so many artists converge on the north shore, to share their beautiful work with the world! I made some great contacts and connected with some wonderful people, including some of my favorite artists: Kimi Werner(http://www.kimiwernerart.com/), Marybeth (http://marybethgallery.com/), and Margo Goodwill (www.hawaiinorthshoreartist.com). Hopefully next year I’ll be back!

My awesome hostess, Angela Maki, had her booth next to mine. She started a foundation, called Ocean’s Love, which takes handicapped children surfing in Japan. Amazing!

Before and after the show, I got to do “some sightseeing” with my lovely hostesses, Atsuko, Mayu, and Angela Maki.

Wonderful hostesses and assistants Mayu and Atsuko

Mayu and Atsuko were so sweet to pick up the unknown Hawaiian girl (myself) from the airport and offer up their time and space for my trip. Atsuko cooked some delicious meals, and we got to go visit downtown Tokyo. We even made a visit to Harajuku, the famous fashion district, made well-known in America by Gwen Stefani’s album Love Angel Music Baby, in her song, “Harajuku Girls.”

Harajuku!!

AFter the festival, Angela Maki and I walked around Machita to do some sight-seeing with her mom in the market, and she got to wear her new Kirstin earrings, which match her Maki necklace perfectly. We also found some dried squid…

Yummy dried squid!

And Angela’s mom has the cutest bike!

Angela Maki and her mommy with big smiles!

I feel so lucky to have so much help at the Love Hawaii Festival from the crew at Ocean’s Love (our neighbor booth) when things got busy in my booth! Here is a picture of everyone at the end of the weekend, exhausted, energized, and ready for a good night’s sleep.

Recently, Coco Ho came by the Noelani Designs studio to design some jewelry for the Surfer Poll, which is (in the surfing world,) comparable to the Oscars in the movie world.

Coco was mentioned in both Surfing Magazine and on their website. STooooked!

As a woman living on the North Shore with so much testosterone in the ocean waves, it’s a beautiful thing to see a young woman grace the water with her feminine presence. I’m so happy to be able to support motivated young women. Go Coco!
