We missioned it to town for the concert and got in for free, courtesy of Tiare’s good friend Brandon. Thanks Bran!

We got to meet Anuhea and speak with her! I gave her some earrings and a necklace and she was stoked! She picked out the Delia large gold and the Ligia earrings

And I think the earrings she has on are going to now be called the Anuhea earrings. It’s like they were designed for her!!

And she wore my jewelry on stage during her show!

Lanikai Craft Fair

May has begun!! May 2 marked my 4th time attending the Lanikai Spring Craft Fair! I can’t believe I’ve been around this long! I love going to Kailua and seeing my loyal clients over there! I love you guys!!! It’s always so nice to catch up with everyone and see everyone grow and change!
I got to Lanikai at 7 AM and picked out my booth, right in the middle of the park as usual. I had a few new pairs of earrings and some new necklaces styles as well. As usual, I name my pieces after the first person to purchase them…and this lovely lady Veronica got a pair of earrings named after her!

I like the new elongated leaves! Very sexy and elegant!

I got to see a lot of returning customers, like Yasha (who designed her own earrings for her wedding) and now she’s prego!!! She’s such a cute prego, I wish I had taken a picture! Ginger stopped by and she had on the Robin earrings:

And guess who happened to be in the booth next to me? My best friend Jenna, womanning the Waialua Soap Factory booth!

My mommy got to come down and check out the booths as well. She helped me set up my booth in the early morning and made sure it was all tidy and eye-catching. Thanks Mom!!

Vision Boards

My girlfriends and I create these things called vision boards. Once in a while, when we get inspired, we cut out magazine clippings of pictures, words, ideas, etc and paste them onto a board to create an idea of what we wish to create in our lives, whether it be health-related, job-related, relationship-related or whatever…

Recently, Sheradan, Tiare and I had a little girls vision boarding session at Sheradan’s new home at Lanis (YAY!!!) and created our boards. Sheradan hosted us with a lovely dinner of salmon cakes and salad with some savory red wine. We overstayed our welcome a little bit b/c we were having so much fun and ended up staying until about 1 AM!!! But here’s what Tiare’s and my boards ended up looking like:

My visions: be a good mommy, be eco-friendly, expand my business, and be healthy!

My visions: be a good mommy, be eco-friendly, expand my business, and be healthy!

I must give thanks to my friend Kimi Werner for teaching me about vision boards! She is a fellow artist- a painter and a freediver. I ran into her at the Haleiwa Arts Festival last year and in her booth she had the SkinDiver magazing on display. She was on the cover! I congratulated her and she told me how it was one of her personal goals to become a better free diver… and so she placed her picture on the front of the Skin Diver magazine to symbolize that… and next thing you know, she really ends up on the cover of the magazine!!

It’s amazing how many things are already coming true from my board. I’m realizing that if you truly believe in something you can make it come true in your life!!

It has been a long time since I’ve been to one of the Art After Dark events in town at the Honolulu Academy of the Arts. They are held every last Friday of the month and it just seems like such a mission to drive to town on a Friday night at 5PM. But I decided to go to town and join my brother and his girlfriend Sara for a night out on the town. We even took baby Aukai so he could try out his new dance moves.

After dancing some with Uncle Christopher, Auntie Sara and Mommy, we checked out some of the galleries and displays. Needless to say Aukai slept very well that night :)

We stayed at my girlfriend Emelyn’s awesome house, even though she is now living in California. Her parents and sister (Hi Gwyn!) were great hosts and they let us have our own rooms!! We walked out into the yard in the morning to do some light yoga and stretching and we found a garden of tomatoes, eggplant, basil, parsley, and huge squash! So we made some sauteed veggies for breakfast!

This is only half of the squash. There were even bigger ones in the yard growing wild!!

We also got to do a little shopping while we were on Maui. We drove to Paia and both Moani and I got our designs into one of the coolest stores, Alice in Hulaland on Baldwin St. Stan, the owner, is an awesome guy and has a good eye for fashion. He even tried on one of my necklaces

For dinner we got to go to the Melting Pot, which is a fondue restaurant! The 4 course meal was delicious. Our new friend Tamika got to join us.

I had the pleaure of taking care of my little cousin Tiani earlier this month. She was on Spring Break and her mommy was working so I took on my role of Auntie Noe in full force. We had slumber parties every night and she was so helpful taking take of the little man and playing with him while I got things done around the house. I always rewarded her good behavior with trips to our favorite place…the BEACH!!!

Auntie Paula joined us, as well as my girlfriend Jazmin, her husband Steve and their daughter Shore. Shore’s birthday is just a few days before Aukai’s!! They play so well together!

I really enjoyed having my cousin stay the week with me. We had some good girl time and some great talks. I remember how carefree I was when I was 10 but at the same time learning so much about the world around me. Tiani has a great heart and I know she will be successful…I only hope I can be a good role model to her as she grows up.

I got to take a moment from my busy work week to go and check out the finals of the Women’s Pipe Contest, put on by the wonderful Banzai Betty. The finals were incredible. Those women have some balls and they can rip. The waves were at least 6 feet (Hawaiian) and Pipe was barreling so beautifully. I actually went down to pick a bikini from my Venezuelan friend Ruth, who designs for Wahine bikinis. She was watching her good friend Luzmarie Grande in the finals. She rocked it….and she actually won the women’s bodyboard division. I love women who can rip and aren’t afraid of anything. Luzmarie isn’t even from here and she conquered Pipe! I decided that since she is so awesome and talented that I would sponsor her and give her a pair of earrings of her choice. She chose the Makena earrings and ended up wearing them on stage at the awards ceremony!!

Luzmarie (aka Loli since she is from Puerto Rico) had the biggest smile on her face when they announced her the winner of the bodyboarding division. She was so grateful for all of her support and has such a great spirit.

Loli won!

Maybe one day I’ll have the guts to bodyboard Pipe…but for now I’ll stick to it’s neighbor at the right, my fave Ehukai :)

It has been a long time since I ventured into the Chinatown district of Honolulu on the First Friday of the month. Probably almost a year actually. I was invited to be a featured designer at the Rock Shop put on by Anne Au and Disfunkshion Magazine at the Loft on Hotel Street. Rock SHop april front 2009
I love events when designers come together to showcase their pieces. There was an awesome fashion show, and the best part of all was that my good friend and fellow designer of Recycled Sweetheart, Moani Silva was selling her wares right next to me!

Moani and I always support each other in our creative ventures. She let me wear one of her dresses made of recycled vintage fabric and I let her borrow my Sophia earrings.

I love Chinatown! We had so much fun just being girls all night. We had some shoppers and I got some new awesome pink sunglasses from DORK sunglasses which I have been wearing almost every day since!
